Day 2... again

Okay guys, so I got a bit of unexpected help. On Sunday night, smoking was actually hurting one of my teeth. I found out today that this is an abcess but yesterday I got up and the thought of the pain was too much to bear so I popped on a patch. Am delighted to say I am now in day 2. Mouth is still killing me but at least I am on antibiotics and am still off the cigs. Hopefully this one will take. Hope all my good friends are doing well with their quits!

Sometimes the most unfortunate things can help us out, I hope your tooth gets better and you stay off the fags :-)

Congrats on your abcess Mark!

It's put you back on the path again :)

Hope you get your tooth sorted soo. In a wierd way it's good to have something that hurts as your mind always focuses on the primary pain....If you know what I mean!!?!

Well done setting on the journey again

cheers

Nice one Mark, it is probably not a bad thing to have something painful to get you through the first few days.................they are are the worst!!!

It really was a big help having the pain but the main thing is that I didn't want to do it anyway. It was nice to have that extra kick to get going but I have not really experienced any craves anyway. I'm not going to jump the gun - taking it one day at a time and will use NRT for as long as I need to. The goal is to not smoke and if this is the way it needs to be done then it is how I will do it.

It's nice to get the encouragement from everyone and it will be a big help. I know that it won't be easy but I also know it won't be the end of the world if I do have a crave. I also know I was on a sinking ship and really don't want to go down with it.

Glad to be back (even with the pain lol)

Mark! Stop piddling about :D when you first quit you were so determined, try to get that spirit back, but having said that I hope you're not in pain for long!

The pain is a big driving force this time around. Maybe once the pain is gone the high spirited me will come back. In fact, I know that there is a positive determination in there but all I can think at the minute is 'ouch'. The old me will be back, just give it a day or 2 of antibiotics and painkillers lol.

Well done on sticking with the quit AB. 6 months done in time for Christmas :D

Just about to go to bed. Had a couple of craves this evening but at least I was able to tell that they were just in my head. It was the whole "do this... have a smoke" thing. I haven't actually thought about having a smoke in the sense of a crave. Thanks for all the encouragement and support guys. it really does make all the difference.

Good night day 2
