Welcome, you've come to the right place. Everybody's quit is different and you'll find lots of great advice and support.
Welcome to the site, and congratulations on making it to four days! This is THE best place to find support, advice and encouragement. I'd never have made it without this forum and the people on it!
Keep on keeping on
Helen
Thanks for the welcome.
Today has been pretty uneventful, except for mild cravings on and off. The odd weasely thought has crept in, suggesting that it would do "no harm" to have a smoke. If smoking does "no harm" then I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of something harmful.
So far, so good
Hi and welcome to the forum,
Well done on getting to day 4.
The thoughts do come and go, and are easier to deal with when you recoginise them.
good luck

Thanks dazza and Nutmeg
Did I say "only mild cravings on and off"..... For the last hour a single craving has been growing stronger and stronger, with feelings of irritation to go with it. Next Champix tablet is in one hour, so need to hold on until then.
Hi Biggrin
Welcome aboard the Mystery Tour!
Not sure about the Champix bit but if you look at a couple of my posts you will see I have been struggling to get my head round this giving up .. of late.
Today has been a vey very weird day, I have had smoking thoughts all day and a couple of "lesser" craves (compared to yesterday) but I can say that now I am starting to understand and listen to my body .... it's actually getting to be enjoyable!
I hope you get stronger every minute
Us newbies need to show the oldies how good we are!!!
(no offence to the oldies .... as in time given up not age...oh you know what I mean! )
Take care
Greg
Hi Nifty
The Champix doesn't seem to be affecting me that much (although, as I expect you know, it affects people in different ways, with some experiencing very strong/unbearable side effects)
Mainly i experience an occasional and brief minor lack of coordination. Other effects - if they are effects at all - are very subtle.
The odd thing is that some of the side effects that are reported for Champix are the same as reported by people using a different method of quitting - ie not using Champix. It might be that the process of cutting down nicotine itself is the cause of some symptoms, and I'm not sure how you could identify the true cause of any one symptom.
The general advice seems to be that if someone is using Champix and they find they are having a difficult experience, that they should see their GP asap.
Thanks for the encouragement. The cravings have now settled back to a minor level, so that was another barrier crossed. It's interesting that you are finding that some of the cravings are starting to get enjoyable for you.
As for the oldies - I suppose the view from the penthouse is pretty good, I'm looking forward to enjoying it with you.
Cheers, Biggrin
