Hi everyone, I have been reading this site avidly over the last couple of days, I am almost at the end of day 2. :)

However, I have been using the inhalater occasionally and have read on here that it isn't ideal? Is that because it contains nicotine and that is what you are trying to get out of your system?

Just to add, that probably sounded stupid, what I meant was what is the difference as opposed to using patches etc.?

Hi,

Well done, great choice, and already at the end of day 2. Glad to hear that you have found the site useful.

I can't make a comment on inhalater because i didn't use one, but trust me lots of people will be here soon who did and will be able to give you lots of advice and encourgement.

Well done and we are all behind, infront and in fact all over.

let us know how it is going.

Thanks Bev, I am finding this extremely hard I have to say, but saying that I was really proud of myself when I resisted temptation by walking by the ciggie counter in the supermarket tonight, I was so tempted. Sounds daft doesn't it!

daft no!

God i have felt pleased with myself when i have walked passed a couple of people smoking outside the pub, in fact not just pleased but almost gloating. you should feel good and proud, look at you a non smoker, healthier, less smelly, and even your skin is looking better. the nicotine is out of your system in about another 24 hours. and then it is just the mind games.

I chose not to smoke today. and i will choose not to smoke tomorrow.

Thanks again Bev, you are all so encouraging here. :)

Hi Fidi,

This is my 2nd day of stopping and I am using the inhalator as well as patches with the help and support from my Drs surgery. I must say that I do find the inhalator useful esp when I'm having a stress moment, but I don't use it often. The whole point of using these things is to gradually cut down the nicotine intake which has got to be a lot better than inhaling smoke.

I'd just ignore anyone that questions how you're quitting as it's not up to them.

Good luck

day 2 too!

Hi all,

It's nice to know that we are all in the same boat and struggling together to kick our habit!

I'm on day 2 (well, had my last cig at 9pm Tuesday night so I'm counting 9pm gmt tonight as my 48 hour mark hehe)

I'm using the inhalator and finding it really helpfull. I always ahve it to hand and use it to beat the tactile/oral side of the smoking habit. If the cravings get strong, I whack in a new cartridge as a "reward."

I'm 36 and have smoked for 20 years. I get incredibly bad withdrawal symptoms without NRT so I'm praying (literally!) that I have stopped for good. Even at this early stage it's so great to be able to say that I HAVE stopped, not that I'd like to!

I alternate between feelings of euphoria that I've not had a cig since tuesday and feelings of terror that I may have one at some future point.

I've not stopped before so it's all new territory to me.

Today so far (touch wood!) has been a bit better than yesterday but both days have been very tough.

Good luck to us all hehe

:O)

well, it's coming to the end of day 2 and I feel really good about things at the moment. Got a long drive tomorrow though which will be strange as I always lit up when I was driving . . . But I have my inhalator so am sure it will be fine - have only 'puffed' it half a dozen times today so feeling optimistic that I am winning!

It doesn't matter

Hello!

I wanted to say congrats on not smoking and let you know it doesn't matter HOW you are accomplishing this! The point is you aren't smoking! This fact can be lost on us when we are using some type of replacement. Some people can go CT no probs others use the patch...some the food and some the gum! The point is......we all do it in our own way but the important part is to not take a puff...ever!:) I am a gummy.......

Good luck...good work and keep it up!
