Gah, this stopping smoking lark can be tough sometimes. I was all set last week, then some scrote threw something at our living room window (can't wait to get out of the hellhole) and the stress started again, and by brain put 2 and 2 together...
Thankfully only fell off the wagon for a day or so and pulled myself together so now I'm back at day 4. I feel like something's clicked but know I have to be on my guard...
Hope everyone's getting on ok with their quits

To be honest Carol I end up very fed up with myself for failing and I want to know what kind of bloke I *could* be without having to cling to something like smoking.
Think I might be replacing nicotine with caffeine though, bouncing off the walls this morning!
It's the one thing that I *will* pat myself on the back for, that after many MANY failed attempts, I'm still coming back to stop... and I think smoking is one thing that many people will hate themselves about.
Well it keeps moving on, onto day 6 for me now and things are going alright! It doesn't help that the Mrs has a cold at the moment so that's highlighting the fact that my system is clearing itself up!
I downloaded an app on my iPhone which shows that I've made a tidy £25.34 saving already, I am ever so slightly addicted to looking at this app now
Also seem to have got my morning Champix sorted now, one piece of toast, followed by one Champix, followed by another piece of toast = no sickness - job done!
I feel slightly weird in that I don't have much drama to add, I'm enjoying things at the moment, having some crazy dreams but waking more refreshed than before and whilst I know I need to keep my guard up, this time feels a bit different than before...
To be honest I've always been a bit of a caffeine junkie anyway, just upped the ante a little since the quit - small concession to make though!
Carol - I wish I could say that I'm treating myself but this quit is well-timed as I'd seriously overspent from December's pay packet so, in fairness, I shouldn't have been able to afford smoking until next week anyway (although being a smoker I would've found a way, wouldn't I? - not any more though!)
very true but after you have caught up with your overspend you will soon see how much money you have left over
i still drink coffee but not as many as i used to i had to change my brand when i gave up smoking as the one i was drinking kenco just tasted disgusting  so now im back on faithful nescafe but i only drink that in the mornings now and the times i go into town i always used to go for a coffee when i smoked now it dont even enter my head
i prefer to go to the pub instead especially since they opened up an O'neils which serve the black stuff how it should be served
Yea that's a funny thing Carol. Since I quit I've preferred tea to coffee. I used to drink coffee all the time - part man, part coffee mug. A lot of instant coffee is now far too bitter!
This is all a kind of self medication, isn't it? Interesting....
I used to swear by Kenco Costa Rican (black, two sugars!!!) before stopping - now I much prefer a cup of tea and only have a couple of coffees a week!!!
It's amazing how quickly the senses come back. Just went for a walk to grab lunch and the amount of new or stronger smells (some good, some... indifferent!) was incredible.
And I've already toned down the amount of coffee I'm spooning into the cup because it was really bitter! This is obviously how everything is supposed to be
