It is now exactly 3 weeks since I stubbed out my last cigarette Don't quite know how I got here but here I am, phew!! I've had some close calls, I even went into my local shop about a week ago and asked for a pack of 10 but the guy wouldn't sell them to me as he knows I have stopped smoking. Just as well or I would be back to square 1- by now and thoroughly miserable. And smelly. I hope things get a bit easier from here, it's so much easier than it was in the beginning and I manage to string a few good days together, but it's the unexpected 'bolts out of the blue' that throw me, but like the lady at the stop smoking clinic said, if it stayed like this forever nobody would ever stop smoking as it would be too hard. So onwards and upwards.
Had of those smoking dreams last night and dreampt I smoked two cigs and thought I had blown it. Then I woke up and found I hadn't phew So here's to Week 4. Feels pretty good

Ah Zoe - I am so very proud of you! You have been a real trooper, and you know that we have all been cheering you on. Hope you have a nice treat lined up for the week end.
I have had a million smoking dreams since I quit, so they don't bother me any more. The other night, though, I had a very strange dream about needing to sell hundreds of ashtrays to the tourists in Mayfair - they were really tacky and tasteless, and I was worried that everyone was judging me... At least they were clean ashtrays though!
Thanks samartel, Gary, Pip and Mrs T and everyone else on here, cos everyone has been so supportive. I didn't even know I was going to quit till I joined this site, even though I had been trying (sort of) for years. I used to buy nicotine gum and give up for 3 hours a day, lol how sad is that:rolleyes: I tried acupuncture which helped me cut down, but when it came to giving up completely I only made it to the 3rd day, and even though I didn't want to smoke I didn't understand what was happening to me so I smoked. And the fear of quitting kept me smoking for another 12 years. Okay so Champix is good, but it was reading the posts on here that gave me the quit smoking bug and here I am. So thanks so much everyone, you are all brill
Mrs T,
The other night, though, I had a very strange dream about needing to sell hundreds of ashtrays to the tourists in Mayfair - they were really tacky and tasteless, and I was worried that everyone was judging me... At least they were clean ashtrays though!
That dream made my laugh so much!! My weirdest dream was when a girl I didn't know shoved a lit cig in my mouth and I said noooo! Then I went to the theatre to see Alice In Wonderland starring Whitney Houston, only it was really Wizard Of Oz cos she sang Somewhere Over The Rainbow. So either she was in the wrong musical or I was in the wrong dream if you see what I mean. Glad it's the Champix and not my head. Course, it could be my head .... oohheerr!! But that's another problem!!
Thanks pfaber, barney and dorset. 3 weeks and 3 days now Thought about Gary today and did the KFC thingy, 3 pieces and large fries. Am stuffed as a turkey now
