Hi well done for getting to day3, however dont you think having a few drinks is chancing it, so soon into your quit ? even if its with a non smoker after a few drinks the urge to smoke is HUGE.
read LonelyMe's post...yes, I know what you mean, but I won't have any tobacco, its cold dark and raining so won't be sitting outside (can't smoke inside a pub). I'll be with someone who knows what its like to quit and I haven't seen for a while.. therefore lots to catch up on. I WILL be strong!
hey lizzie,i believe in you have fun tonight ,and enjoy not having to go stand in the freexing rain while youre mate is inside,if u do happen to get an urge i hear pork scratchings help lol,im on day 6 now and just watched my sis stand at my back door in the rain smoking , i felt a little smug knowing i dont have to do that anymore, just think about that tonight ,have fun
Have a lovely evening Lizzie. This will be another association that you have started to break. And if it is raining and miserable outside, then so much the better! But remember that being too smug when you pass those poor, smelly, wet smokers standing outside is not nice! Try to be charitable and sympathetic - one day, they too may cross over....
Thank you Mrs T. Been doing really well today, then now just after my dinner, had quite a strong craving. Did some EFT and a bit more of my jigsaw(!) and all is calm again.
I have to say the EFT, whether it's working or not, is a GREAT distraction!
Back from my trip to the pub and had half a bottle of red wine (nice). Didn't smoke, didn't think about smoking...until I got out of taxi. Said to driver "I'd really like to smoke" and he said "No, you don't". End of very boring anecdote!!
So day 3 done. It's been fine today. I think I'll listen to Paul Mackenna again...it's odd how good today had been. Maybe he has influenced my unconscious mind!
Thursday tomorrow. I'm worried about the weekend, but I'll face that on Saturday.
Brilliant Elizabeth. Another first ticked off - and you never have to do that 'first' again. And you will be beginning to see how you canstillenjoy yourself and be 'you' without the hassle of a cigarette. Well done
