hello all....last nite i was out with my family to celebrate my birthday and my 6 months quit!! (im taking a bow.....one moment please:p)

anyway the reason that i am posting this is because what i did last night was something i NEVER thought i could do....i stood outside with all those smokers and chewed my gum amd drank my beer and talked to them and watched them smoke..about 8 people...:eek:

im feeling quite proud...if you told me the first month of my quit that i would be doing that i would have told you that you were completely out of you freakin mind!!

it goes to show you that we are so capable of anything if we really want it! i woke up this morning and no heavy chest..no trouble breathing...no coughing and i thought wow...this is amazing! i had a great time and i drank and i didnt even consider having a smoke..

i just wanted to share this with you all because no one can understand this great feeling i have other than my fellow quitters at NO SMOKING DAY!! ENJOY THE WEEKEND!!:cool:

We've all come such a long way this year. It's just gobsmacking how different I feel from six months ago. So much healthier and happier. But there were points along the way when I thought I'd NEVER get over it.

Hope the new quitters take heart from threads like this. Keep going, keep strong, and you WILL get there.
