Well, off to get my first pack of Champix today, planning on starting in the morning, with a D Day of Monday the 11th.
Through experience, does anybody feel this is too long to carry on smoking with the pills?
Thanks in advance

Good morning and welcome
Well done on deciding to stop the weed once and for all
I started the Champix on Weds 20th Oct with all intentions of stopping 1st Nov then i stopped a week early. They change how smoking tastes and some of your thoughts, well thats what i found and for me i was ready that week earlier so in all honesty NO i dont think thats a wrong timescale you will know your own thoughts, mind and feelings once you start taking them. I only took the pills for 11days but im still smoke free and nearly 9 months so it can be done.
Good luck my friend
Thanks for that...
Been smoking for 19 years now, with my best break being a whole 5 days!!
Patches? Didn't help
Gum? Hurt my throat to the point of swelling
Lozenges? My best to date, in conjunction with e-cigarettes, but I don't think the imitation of the real thing helped me...
As such I'm running out of options.
I'm really determined to do it this time, my wife gave up a few years back after suffering with TB, my father in law has just been diagnosed with lung cancer, my brother in law has bowel cancer... so realistically, I've got a fair few reasons to do it for good this time!
Well, day 7 Champix, just hit the blue ones, and touch wood, so far no side effects at all, bar one...
This morning I actually didn't enjoy smoking. It's probably all mental, but I actually felt as if there was a block between my throat and my brain, and I was only smoking for the habit, not the addiction.
Roll on Monday, as I am actually now looking forward to quiting!
