i have reached 2 weeks today. its been alot easier than my other quits. this time i have been trying not to talk as much about quitting smoking as in other quits it is all i have talked about and it keeps it in my mind all the time making it harder.yesterday i had a few moments when i finished doing something and afterwards my first thought was to go and have a fag but i reminded my self i had given up and the thoughts disappeared pretty quickly.i am not going to get complacent though as i have a long way to go but i think im in this for the long haul this time.fingers crossed.good luck to all fellow quitters on here we will all get there in the end:D lisax

Well done lid.

But please be warned that my first 2 weeks were fine, it was around week 3/4that I started wobbling a little.

Good that recognise you can't be complacent, keep a 'plan B' in your pocket (whether that's a lozzie, inhalator, plastic cig or whatever works for you) at times when you could feel vulnerable (drinking, stressful period etc).

Good luck

I did the same this quit, only just told my best friends and the people at work still don't know because there's been so many fails and its like they're waiting for it and it adds so much pressure. Good Luck

thank you horse i know what you mean about the 3/4 week mark my last quit was in march and only lasted a month on week three i went to a wedding and i only knew a few people and all those people kept going out for a fag leaving me on my own i felt so left out i spent the whole night really peed off and wanting a fag.i didnt have one and was pleased with my self .but it lead to a downward spiral which resulted in me smoking again a week later.i think that quit was doomed from the beginning as i was forced to quit through lack of money.this one was planned and i feel really determined.i actually cant wait to get to a month as im relishing the fight.good luck:)

cheers jordan i have only told family this time and i have been wearing my patch on my leg so no one else knows and it is not on view as a constant reminder.only bad thing is sometimes i forget to put it on and only remember an hour or so later.that can make me a bit moodier than usual.i gave up in march and that only lasted a month so i am a lot more wary this time.i also dont want other people to assume im going to fail.lets prove them wrong but quietly you can shout from the roof tops later.good luck lisa:)
