I'm 4 weeks in, and just wanted to know if anyone else feels like they don't get hangovers anymore without cigarettes?
I've defintely cut down the amount I drink, but now I don't smoke I wake up feeling absolutely fine whereas previously even after a little bit of booze I would feel a bit groggy the next day. I used to drink alot more when smoking, as cigs when drunk were part of the 'special cigs' group, ones we 'supposedly' enjoy more than others, and have to say most of my quits stem from waking up the next day with a minging head and throat from a night out, when I could easily go through 30 + in one night!
Now I'm off them, I find I can hardly notice the next day that I had a drink the night before. Yesterday, I drank 2 pints of guiness, two large glasses of red wine and a cocktail, and feel absolutely normal today. Its all very strange.

I felt exactly the same - i still do get a sore head the morning after, mores the pity, but that's all it is, not 2 days out of action as before. I feel less poisoned if that makes sense, and like you say no sore throat or stench or fags makes a HUGE difference!
Who'd have thought it ey?! It someone had informed me of this i might have quit years ago. Might have.....!!
Just take smoking out of your life and your going to feel better drinking or not. I used to feel like crap in the morning following a night of smoking and drinking - worse from the smoking really.
