Bravo!
Hi Rachel,
that is fantastic! Hope you are feeling proud of yourself as you have done so well. A month seems like a year at the beginning of the quit, and now you have done it!! You will be soon be notching up the months until it is a year. Just keep taking it day by day and they will soon add up. That is how I am doing it. I am on week 8 and struggling a bit, but riding it out. I am taking nothing for granted and regard my quit as work if you like, I have to be the security guard for my body and have to turn away the fags that come knocking at my door (bit like a night club bouncer!). The late night, worse for wear punters that arrive and insist on gaining entry are the hardest to get rid of, but I find being firm, consistent and just tell them to get lost works.
So stay strong and hope you have a great second month!!!
take care
xox

Well done that girl! I'll be starting week five on Saturday.
Well done Rachel, 1 month down already. So very proud of you
Good morning Rach,
I just popped in to say a BIG WELL done from me too. Keep up the good work.
LOL
Hi everyone.
Thanks for all your lovely messages
I seem to be doing ok in the not smoking front at the mo, and the food obsession has calmed down a bit.
Now I've picked up a delightful bug from my little boy and my throat feels full of razorblades. When I was smoking I used to smoke when I had these things. Nothing would stop me having a fag. I even remember being wheeled out of the hospital after being on deaths door (2 rather nasty bouts of peritonis) just so I could have one.
Rachel, sorry to hear you're struggling a bit - just think about how far you've come, and how awful it would be to have to start again. You'll be OK, I've got faith in you x
Carol & Luckydog, well done on your milestones
As as for feeling proud, YES I AM :D (and a little bit smug tbh)
Now, just to cope with the office Christmas party tomorrow. Should be OK as all non-smokers. Saying that, a colleague gave up smoking in August and she told me that she often has a few whilst out drinking - I am NOT being led into that trap!
Hope everyone has a lovely day (and I can answer the phone without sounding like a croaky frog!)
xx
ahhh bless hope your feeling better soon and ok to go to your christmas do i know what you mean with the still smoking when at deaths door its scary really the lengths you will go to  just to have a ciggy the last couple of weeks ive had sore throats coughs and tonsillitis which ive just finished a course of penicillian for not sure though if its because ive stopped smoking and ive gotton the infections  but still glad im not making it worse by smoking which i would have done before
Brilliant Rachel
Enjoying these themes- I love being able to admit I have a sore throat- I never could when smoking.
I made a decision not to go to my Christmas work do tonight. I got a sense of all the phoney justifications lining up to get me and I came home to red wine andf lasagna. A good choice I think. Now I start struggling- I'd better come here more often I think.
