well tomorrow is the day, wish me luck! gonna spend the night preparing myself mentally, that seems to be the biggest battle for me, when i have quit before i have coped with the cravings and withdrawl, just struggling this time with the actual stopping...... this is my last cig...............no this is my last............just one more.............this has gone on for the last week or two.

tomorrow is the day, no more messing around, i have to be free from smoking.

any tips welcome. :-)

Welcome to the Forum Jay :). You've come to the right place for support and encouragement.

I for one know exactly what you mean about the last cig never actually getting here. There's always an excuse for another, and another, and another... You have to pick a date/time and stick to it. Are you planning on going cold turkey?

Hi there. I'm planning on using patches and inhailator if needed, and a dose of calms, ha! Sure my kids would be gratful, allan carrs book seems to help too, not a massive help as I'm dyslexic and find it difficult to read, thank god for predictive text, ha!

Trying to think about how I'm not loosing something bit gaining freedom instead. Just got to remember that tomorrow. :-)

Good luck for tomorrow Jay :).

Remember, you can't have 'just one'. This game's all or nothing I'm afraid.

Read, read and read some more here. Post the good times and especially the bad times. There'll be someone around to offer support. Take it one day, one hour, one minute at a time. Find things to distract yourself.

Stay strong and focussed and you can achieve this!!!

Hi Jay,

Welcome to the most supportive place you will ever find :)

Yep know that feeling... "oh i will quit after this one" it never happens does it!!

Well it does eventually, sonething clicks in your head and we seem to know when enough is enough!!

My little tip for the morning, would be change your routine, if you are prone to lighting up straight away when waking.. go find something else to do before and do it for 10 mins... ie shower , get dressed etc etc

Another good thing that has helped me, is that i see you are going to use patches...set you alarm clock an hour before you would normally wake up and stick on a patch when it goes off, then go back to sleep for your last hour or two.. when you wake the patches have already started their magic work and it will make it more easier for you :)

good luck hun
