  • Hi guys,

I am new, can I join in aswell???

    :)

  • Hi, are you stopping tomorrow too ? How are you planning to do it ?

  • Yeah I am going for tomorrow, I will be going cold turkey for now but may call on some help after the first couple of weeks if needed. I think the main thing that is helping is being able to smell myself in the pub these days, damn the smoking ban it ruins your excuses lol

How are you going to do it?

I jsut downloaded that quit counter, it sounds like a very good idea!

  • I am going cold turkey too, although I was given patches from the doctor. I don't smoke much during the day - if at all, so I will see how I go first. How did you get the quit calculator ?

  • Good luck for tomorrow

I quit nearly one month ago, my top three tips:

    1. Use this forum whenever you have a crave

    2. Go cold turkey, using patches only delays yet another quit, quitting from patches

    3. Get a quit counter, it helps to motivate you, to see what you will lose if you light up again

    Izzy.

Quit for Three weeks, five days, 13 hours, 6 minutes and 10 seconds. 530 cigarettes not smoked, saving £146.00. Life saved: 1 day, 20 hours, 10 minutes.

  • Team D-Day

hi everyone, especially new recruits to team D-Day..

just been out bought everything I could think of to help tomorrow..apart from NRT cos planning to go cold turkey!!

apparently high dose vit C helps; as do "dark" e.g. grape, blueberry fruit juices; dextrose tablets; herbal stress tablets (they're BRILL!!)..and sugar free lollipops but couldn't find them!!

getting nervous now, but excited too..last meeting with the nicotine monster later tonight..

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE in Team D-Day Lets Do It

see you all here tomorrow..(will now go add new names to the team;)

  • Nicky... sugar free lollipops are in Tesco.. chuppa chups strawberries n cream.. in bags of 8 hanging up with the bags of minstrels/wine gums etc.. it's the only place I managed to find 'em!

Also.. for all you tomorrow quitters.. my top tip- FROZEN GRAPES!!

Chuck some in the freezer and then tomorrow evening if you get craves eat some.. they're fab.. and non fattening and healthy too!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE - You all have a lot of people here rootin for you!

(((BIG GOOD LUCK HUG TO YOU ALL)))!!! :D:D

    Barb x

  • I leave you lot for a couple of hours and look what happens, loads more members join Team D-Day......and it's brilliant :D

Well, it's nearly 11pm, just having my last ever cigarette, not strong enough to go cold turkey tomorrow so microtabs and patches at the ready ( and i know you shouldn't use both at once but needs must ).

    So, roll on tomorrow.

    Good luck team :)

  • Good luck everyone, you CAN do it.

Will be thinking of you all and sending positive vibes your way.:)

  • Good luck folks.....

  • Any chance of me joining please?

  • Just wanted to say how great it is to see so many peepas quitting!

Stay together, stay strong ...and use the forum when you're not feeling good...It helps a lot, I find.

One of the surprises to me has been to find out how fed up we all are with smoking and how much we'd love to be non-smokers...almost everyone who posts feels that way.

Not something you can share too easily with people who aren't quitting.

Go Go Go We're all in this together!

    BillG
