Day 8 since I give up smoking, haven't had too much of a problem up till now on the patches - 16 hrs - but am really struggling today, cravings are really bad not sure what to do about it. Got some chewing gum and the inhalator but nothing seems to work, any advise anyone?

I get through them with lots of slow deep breathing & LOADS of cold water. Feels like I am washing the craves away I am not using patches but lozenges which I find really help.
day 8 is brilliant..you on patches now? & gum & inhalator? just a thought you mite be using too much nrt....im no expert mind..maybe just use the gum or inhalator with the patch, not both..think they just do the same thing anyhow but in a different ways
Keep reading, posting & distracting yourself....youve done over a week now that is amazing. You will get strength from every day & things that seem tough now about the quit eg first fag of the day, so******ing, work, etc will change sooner then you think
you have done brilliant so far and if it is any help to you the craves will fade away just got to hang in there drinking water and keeping busy helps...... also be strong and determined that this little demon is just a pest rather than something that controls your life ,..... Not too sure about all the stuff you are using, to me it sounds like you are replacing the cigs with more nicotine that you are used too , whilst you are this determined to quit why not just stick to the patches and see how the next few days go ...but you are doing brilliant keep telling yourself that ... come here and chat with everyone when you can, read peoples signatures they contain loads of advise and help hang in there Dawn you will do this
Thanks for your comments, may have led you to believe that I was doing all 3 products, but I am mostly on the patches, I have done 1 chewing gum today but don't normally use it all day and I have a few puffs of the inhalator when the craving for a cigarette gets bad but that may be once or at the most twice a day, I don't bring it to work with me. Managed to get over my cravings today I think had to rush back to work at dinnertime and seem to got over the cravings now, so hopefully the little monster has gone for today.
I know this sounds daft, but are you using the gum correctly? You know you have to "park" it in your mouth?
Sorry if I am stating the obvious, and you already know this...but if you haven't been told then you won't know.
I used the gum and patches and found them to be ok. The gum I though was realy good...had one bit and it lasted me for ages....just kept getting a bit of a "hit" from it...
I am now off the gum and patches, so things do get better xx

Feel a bit better today got to go to my one to one smoking clinic tonight which hopefully will help a bit more. Don't know about anyone else, but I have smoked for 30 years and it feels easier to have a fag(not craving one I think), but its easier to have a fag cos giving up is really hard work.
Your doing great hun Day 9 now you will get some days like this in the early days hun. But you will get much more good days Just keep strong and you will win though. You are also allowed to use two forms of nrt at the same time if it makes things easyer for you. Also its very important that you treat yourself after each milestone you know like week one, two, three,:D:D
Thats the good bit. Keep up the good work chick your doing great.xxxxx

Hi Dawn,
Glad you feel better today
I smoked a bit longer than you & yes giving up is hard work, but like most things in life the good things have to be fought for. Maybe that's what makes them more special when we get there
Moral: you keep fighting because being quit is SO WORTH IT
