I need help - today is day 8 (with patches), but last night I dreamt that I was smoking roll-ups in secret! I didn't even smoke rollies, but cigs - I'm freaked out , I was feeling great a couple of days ago but omg am I ever going to feel better.
I did have a sneaky bit of chocolate tonight :(as I'm feeling deprived of all things good (I don't drink, don't normally eat fatty foods). Even retail therapy isn't making me feel good.
I want to give up, I have given up, but fear my own temper at the moment:mad:. And I know I'm being horrible but...

I feel i absolutely must assure you that smoking dreams do occur while quitting smoking.. and more common also in folk who use NRT too apparently.
I found i had about 3 or 4 smoking dreams all really far apart during the first month or two of quitting, and I woke up in a panic on all those occasions feeling really upset that i'd been silly and smoked.
The relief when i realised i hadn't was immense, but its scarey all the same.
I quit using patches and am at over 7 months now.. so it is possible.
Do you leave your patch on at night while you sleep btw? reason i ask is because i found leaving mine on tended to make my sleep patterns horrendous.
Don't worry you are not on your own - i had a dream the other day that i was smoking a full fat Marlboro in one puff to hide it before my kids caught me (I used to smoke Silver Bensons)!!! I think that is a symptom. I am not on patches, but using Champix, but a previous time i did use patches i had similar vivid dreams!!
I am only on day 10 so can't tell you much about anything else, but just take one day at a time - yesterday i was even contemplating ringing a taxi to bring me a packet of cigarettes as i couldn't leave the house while the kids were asleep!!!
I am eating loads more than usual too, (mostly junk)but thought once i have got over the smoking thing i will worry about going back to healthy eating!!
Thank you! Just knowing this forum exists could be my lifesaver. I do leave the patch on while I'm sleeping but maybe tonight I'll remove it as I'm shattered from not sleeping properly.
I'm terrified of putting weight on as that happened to me before when I tried to quit. So am getting weighed on a regular basis to ensure I don't overstep the mark. I've got a heart problem and high cholesterol (doc blames smoking as my diet is practically fat free) so I can't afford to start eating the wrong things.
But I will go to bed soon and tomorrow is another day...
Tomorrow is another day indeed- and you'll be able to tell yourself you got through this hard day- which hopefully will give you a boost. I've had the smoking dreams too- and I panic when I wake that I've smoked for real- they're getting less often now (day 17) so hopefully you won't have it for too much longer either, Pols xxx
how weird, I had my first dream last night regarding smoking and thought i was really weird but seems im not the only one, Im cold turkey so im guessing its just a sub concious thing lol
I just dreamt that i had a quick fag and felt rlly guilty and mad at myself for ruining all my hard work all week for it to be gone in seconds. But it went in like one puff like beccy said lol. Weird!
Must say i woke up very relieved!
