Can't believe I'm doing this again

Hey guys and girls,

Well a few of you may remember me, I was one of the MMQs from last year.

BUT after nearly 4 months of not smoking (I was doing so well :( ) I decided that "just one" wont hurt. Soon enough it was back to packs of 20.

Well I'm here to tell you that it was the most usless thing I've ever done.

1- I was back to being skint again

2- I felt like a failure infront of my family and friends

3- I didn't lose any of the weight I had put on

4- If I hadn't lit up I would have been quit well over a year by now

And now I have to start all over again... was it worth it?? was it hell!

So on Monday 19th July I am going to officially quit again.

I have been out today to buy an inhalator and gum, last year I went cold turkey but don't feel strong enough this time to do it that way.

Wish me luck! I'm sure you will be hearing all my moaning thoughout next week

Good for you Lottie, I had a similar experience last year, quit for nearly 4 months then thought I could just have one (6 months quit now and couldn't be happier). I wish you all the best for Monday, keep us posted.

Lorraine :)

Hi Lottie I look forward to reading your ongoing progress reports and I will be there to pat you on your back at every milestone you reach, after last year you will if nothing else know all the pitfalls and be able to guard against them.

You know the site and it was obviously a help as you got to 4 months before so you will not want me telling you how to go about it just to say good luck for monday and speak soon xx

Thanks for the replys lozza & jamangie, I'm trying to be optimistic about Monday but even though I've done it before, it still seems a bit scary!

One of my mistakes I made last year was getting too complacent, I'd been quit for a few months and thought I was fine and I gradully stopped logging on here.

The people on this forum were the ones who kept my spirits high and helped me through it.... that is what I will remember this time round :)

And jamangie.... you tell me how to go about it if you want.... never know, it might help!! ;)

can’t really tell you how to quit or how to stay quit, only that it is so much better for you than smoking, and that quitting with the support of a forum like this will I’m sure make it much easier than being on your own.

Maybe a good idea is to do a daily blog of how you are feeling etc that will mean you have to come on every day no matter what.

This will also help other early day’s quitters and give them a referral of how it feels in the early days wish I had done it as I could then look back and think eeeek don’t want to go there again.

What I will and can do is offer my support to you any time you want it xx

What is it about 4 months that makes people wobbly? :confused:At least you can be stronger this time round knowing that it's such an evil habit that will try anything to lure you back. Look forward to reading your posts & good luck. :)
