Hi! Been chewing gum for the last 2 weeks and i am going warm chicken this weekend. Does anyone know which hypno cd is good and where i can get it? Thanks.

20aday says he used a Hypno tape on his signature. Praps he can tell you which one.

Me, I went to a hypnotist years ago, she was great and I stopped easily. It was so easy that 6 months later I had "just one" at a party. The original hypnostist wasn't in the area anymore so I went to see a guy who did absolutely nothing... I sat there feeling very awake and very stupid at handing over £90 as I was too embaressed to say nothing happened. Third time was at the Alan Carr centre and again I was too embaressed to ask for my money back. I lit up as soon as I got out of there and into the safety of the car park.

I just wish I'd never undone all the great work of the first hypnotist I went to. If you can find a great hypnotist or a tape then it does work painlessly.

An age ago I copied the tape to my computer as mp3 so could play with little mp player just used name Give up smoking as title. I will look through old tapes soon I may still have the original tape.

About 20 years ago i went to a pro Hypnosis I think I went so deep under that when I left I couldn't remember where I lived, went to pub had a few beers and thought what am I going to do anyhow I remembered about two hours later and went home, stayed a non smoker for about a week lack of willpower I guess but I really did forget that I smoked.

Tried the gum myself but found was always chewing jaw hurt.

Tried patches had three on arm at one time had to quit the patches was smoking with them on aswell.

Thanks. Didnt want to go to a hypnotist just listen to the cd as i've already stopped. Any help will be great!

The gum is hurting my teeth as well that and still nicotined up is why i'm going CT!

Patches. You only need 2...1 over each eye and you cant find ya cigs. Yes, thats an oldie!

First thing i would say regarding hypnotherapy is not to kid yourself - you still need to be absolutely resolute about quitting and prepared to have to use some willpower to get over initial hurdles and stay quit in the long run. It is not a magic cure all. Nothing is.

However i found it to be of real benefit during my quit. Particularly in the early stages, where it seemed to make it much much easier than any previous quit attempt i had.

I used the Max Kirsten Quit Smoking iPhone application, which costs about a fiver. There is a 40 min main session you listen to once a week and a 20 min session you listen to every other day. I did this throughout the first month or so of my quit, and still listen to the 20 min booster session every now and again.

I'm just about to move into month 6 smoke free.

I agree with tedmaul for certain people who are able to work with hypnotic suggestion it can be very pleasant way to quit of course with willpower.

I found the tape or mp3 I am using they have small sample's on this page so one can here the voice before purchase.

Thanks Ted and 20! Man, i am sooooo determined to quit this thing! 18 days today! Just thought hypno would boost my quit...i dunno...but anything helps i spose.

Feeling great at the moment...i'll try the download. I'm a Crackberry user no iphone but i'll trawl the netz for a compatible one!

Allen Carr "Easy Way to Stop Smoking" DVD.

No hypnotism involved, just a nice relaxing (low budget reminded me of being at school) DVD. Makes complete sense and re-inforces everything you need to know about why smoking is a ridiculous waste of time.

I got a quit smoking thing with a guy called Max Kirsten (he's got a .com address). That had an initial 40 min session with 20 minute booster sessions when needed. Found that really relaxing.

Thanks everyone. Ordered a cd....not a hypno but one that you listen to help you relax when getting the jitters which hasnt happened yet BUT just in case

Gum is going in the bin tommorrow and CT starts. Wish me luck!!

Gotta get that nico out of my system now. My breathing is great, smell nice....well better :rolleyes: and my car, house, clothes everything smells fresh.
