Sorry I haven't posted in ages, it's not 'cos I started up again :). I'm in the middle of my 5th week, and doing well . The cravings are few and far between now, and I have found myself coughing quite a bit, but my lungs are feeling much clearer generally. Getting well into my QiGong, and am really sorting my life out - I feel gr8 at the moment :D. I've worked out that I've saved £55 so far, yeehaa!
But I'm putting on weight :(. Oh well, it must be better than giving yourself the possibility of all manner of nasty diseases.
Keep it up all you mad marchers and showers!
Love Paul. x

The metabolism tends to regularise itself at about 6 months and the weight becomes easier to sort out then.
As I understand it from my fiends that do CMA (Chinese martial arts) smoking seriously disrupts the flow of Chi, so your practice of QiGong should improve substantially now!
It's good to hear from you again, almost 5 weeks that's great well done
Sorry if I seem ignorant but what is QiGong ??
Don't worry about the weight for now as Nic says it will settle again, my appetite is now back to normal and the weight is coming off again, almost back to my pre-quit weight again
QiGong, or 'Chi Kung', is an ancient Chinese energy art, similar to yoga, which was conceived by the Indian Buddhist Monk Bodhidharma (the guy who also created Zen Buddhism), in the Shaolin Temple. It is used in Kung Fu, and Tai Chi Chuan, and is used to prevent and even cure illnesses in a manner simply not on offer from Western medicine. QiGong is associated with TCM, or, 'Traditional Chinese Medicine'.
Correction, I'm 4 weeks and 2 days (in a few hours), I'm a couple of days behind you. I figured, as I'm in my second month (5th week) now, to post here.
the safest thing is to not post at all then I can't do it wrong.
There is no wrong place to post Caroline, if you have something to say, it doesn't matter where you post it. None of us are any better or worse than the others. David
Well done Paul you are doing great, now talking in months.
I too put on weight and I hope our friends here are right when they say it stops around 6 months and maybe even comes off a little. I am quite a small person and had lost far too much weight so I could afford to put on a good stone and a half, but I have put on a little more so now I have three sizes of clothes none of which fit me properly. Good bit is though I am not smoking. Your QiGong sounds fascinating.
