Hi... I found this web just a few minutes ago... and regret I didn't do so two day ago when I decided to smoke my last cigarrette. I thought I would not make it it... but hey. Here I am.
I was afraid that a regular day at work would make me want to smoke again... and yes. I'm being tempted every five minutes, but I still resist.
Ok, I must confess I'm using these nicotnie gums... Taking about six- seven each day. Anyone using them? Any advice?
regards and keep up the fight!

Hi there. Well done you. Im on day four today...aagggh!! Im so proud! im using the nicotine patches, which im terrified to take off.. i think its all psycological for me thou. I was dreading work, and the ciggertee breaks too, but i just took my lunch into work. Loads of fruit and no money at all! so i cant get any even if i want them!
I find myself doing funny things now, such as when poeple come up after having a smoke, i smell them. and eeewwww do they smell bad! haha! Try it, honestly it helps! especially when your about two more breaths from running after them to join them for a ciggerette, it really makes you think! Im loving the way my hair smells too, its all about the little things!
Can't help with advice on the gum, but many people on this forum have experience of it and will no doubt offer their own thoughts. Also you could check out whyquit.com and woofmang.com both of which have loads of great advice and helpful articles.
Well done on getting through the first day. The milestones soon add up. keep strong and keep going.
Well done you have stopped smoking. It really does help to read lots about the addiction to nicotine and what we can expect while stopping, this you will find in the web links in Deke's post. Reading helps to set your mind right about what you once believed about cigarettes and the truth. On this forum how you stop is personal and anything goes except smoking, the important thing is staying stopped. I did start with patches and gradually came off them.
