Hey team I have recently refrained from smoking for 6 days, tommorrow will be a full week. I never realized how nasty of habit it was until I stopped, how dependent u r on the bloody things. However I have told myself it is all in ur head. I have smoked for 8 years the last 5 have been a pack a day. I have nothing but the utmost admiration for everyone on this site who have choosen this right path in life and who have also chosen to stick with it. Bravo and kudos to everyone here it is very difficult. I have not really had very bad cravings but maybe that means not yet. I find before I go out I always take a bottle of water with me and when I get the urge to light one up I take a sip, I find this very helpful. Any other pointers would be much appreciated (dont really want to do the gum or patch thing). Once again congratulations to all for your right and life changing decisions, keep it up team.

Hi Agron, Congratulations on coming this far. I take a very deep breath when I'm craving and I find it helps. Inhale fresh air. It feels great to be able to take a DEEP breath with out coughing. I couldn't do that before.
