It's still a bit early, but I'm catching up on last nights action... lol
(I only use the site at work, but don't tell anyone!)
Well done on your 1st 24 hours....
You will do it this time, just choose not to smoke everytime the option comes up.
StuartH's golden rules....
1) A cigarette will not make anything better. How can a tube of paper filled with poisonous leaves make anything better?
2) A crave WILL pass whether you smoke or not - no matter how strong. Knowing that it will pass if you don't smoke - whats the point in smoking? Each crave that passes makes the next one weaker and easier to overcome.
I found reading my way through a crave on one of the excellent information sites (a selection in my sig) a wonderful distraction and re-enforcing process.
I also found that confronting it helps (even if I looked like a prat talking to myself!). "I understand you, I know that you are just a symptom of my body healing - and I know you will go away in a few minutes"
Congrats - and this rough first few days will be a memory before you know it

Hi Stuart
Thanks for the great advice i will remember what you said every time a crave hits. You are so right fags dont make any thing feel better all they do is make me feel worse.
It is all about getting your head around it. The physical cravings last minutes. The mental cravings can mess you up and make things difficult. Think positive , convince yourself it is easy and it will be! One moment at a time and all that.. Good luck ( although I am sure you dont need it)
What else can I add to all that? Sooooo happy you made it through day 1 and into day 2! Nice going you. Stay calm, breathe deeply, stay busy, and read, read, read.... I guess that falls under 'stay busy'? Whatever!!! Just don't smoke :D:D
