For the past 10 years I have tried to quit smoking, nothing helped. Finally 6 months ago I gave up smoking. Everything was very easy. One need only know how many cigarettes a person smokes a day and I can help you. On average the process takes about 30-90 days. Neither any medication. Well I too was thinking of patenting a new method of quitting myself and coincidentally it also takes 60 to 90 days for most people.

Stage 1: You buy 1200 cigarettes, you continue smoking as you would normally, once you have none left don't buy any more or accept any as a gift.

Stage 2: Sign up to the nosmokingday web forum. Post often and read whyquit.com and the tales at woofmang to developing the right mindset so that you don't see quitting as a sacrifice and don't want to smoke again.

Optionally you can use the fast track method and go straight to stage 2 thus avoiding the 60-90 days of 1200 cigarettes
