The primary objective in any successful quit is losing the desire to smoke.

There are a few active threads at the moment lamenting smells, butts and the like and I noticed one where the quitter was self-limiting to 2 fags a day.

I know a few of us on here sound like stuck records but once you understand the mechanics of why you smoke and what causes us to light up the next one then it’s then straightforward to just abstain.

I don’t know how successful my quit would have been if I had to avoid fag smoke or had to avoid looking at fag-ends or even worse, I wanted to smoke..!!!

It might sound heartless but if you’re quitting or quit and you seriously fancy a smoke you’re on very shaky ground.

Read, learn, re-read, trawl and read again. Someone somewhere has written it in a way that will click and you can then stand outside with the smokers happily chatting and having no wish to smoke. If Allen Carr doesn’t work try Neil Casey then Chris Holmes then Joel Spitzer etc etc someone will have put it in words or ways that instantly focus your will. :)
