Thanks everyone for your congratulations. I have been doing a bit of Christmas cooking for the freezer over the past few days, so have not been on here much.

No Linda l haven't cracked, but a "funny" thing happened the other day. It has been so cold recently that we have been having a fire in the kitchen as well as the heating on. My husband usually lights the fire, but l was so cold the other day, that l decided to light it myself, before he got home. Well, l can tell you, WHAT A SHOCK. :eek: I laid the paper, wood and coal in the grate, lit it, and HORROR OF HORRORS, reached for my cigarettes :eek:. Of course l haven't got any cigarettes, but just for that split second, l had completely forgotten that l don't smoke anymore. How weird is that. :confused: After all this time you can still be caught off guard.

How is your partner doing Linda? Is this the first time that he has tried to quit? Wish him well from me.

Maybe its because you have not lit the fire since your quit. partner is on day three and no not his first time about the four in the last two years.

Hi Linda, you are right. It was the first time l have lit the fire since l started my quit. I can tell you though, it took me completely by surprise. :confused: It would have seemed so natural, to have taken a cigarette, put it in my mouth and lit it. :eek: Fortunately, the feeling only lasted a micro second.

How is your partner feeling? Is he finding it difficult at the moment, or is the Zyban working well? It will help both of you if you quit together. :)Speak soon.

Hi Josie

This is his day 3 but hes a bit quiet to be honest. He may be tired so I will not ask him about the quit untill tomorrow. We had some lovely news today my youngest son and his partner are having a little girl. We are all very pleased I already have one grand daughter so maybe my daughter and her husband will have a boy. xxxx

Hi Linda, you lucky old thing you. I have a son of 42 and a son of 40, and not a little un between 'em. :mad: And truth be told, l can't say that l'm holding out much hope now. :rolleyes:

I'm glad that your partner is sticking with it. As regards the quietness, maybe he's feeling a bit disorientated, and just doesn't feel like talking at the moment. :confused:
