Mine is bloody useless!!! She told me 2 weeks ago that I didn't need to see her last week cos I was doing so well. So she made me an appointment for this morning as my NRT prescription was due anyway.
It's a bloody good job that I've already stopped taking the NRT cos I've just sat in my doctor's waiting room, after being booked in for my appointment by the receptionist, for over an hour. There was no appointment made for me, the nurse was very busy, and I was told that I could try waiting for half an hour and they may be able to get me in to see her!
Grrrr, I'm so angry. They're supposed to be there to help!!!!!!!!!
Ok rant over. Just thought, I shulda put that in Maddy's rant all you want thread. Never mind.
Right, day 2 of quit 2. Absolutely no problems at all. No cravings at all, slept like a baby last night, haven't even considered having a fag or a nicotine lozenge. Woo hoo!!!!

Your Drs sound as bad as mine Dave! I'm going to be good and refrain from voicing my thoughts over why Doctors surgeries are a nightmare of late
Glad you're feeling in high spirits! So you should be too, you're stopping some horrible nasty habit (habit is just easier to use) and that can only be good!
I have to agree that nurses are not the greatest of support as they could be , not doing well with nrt and not wanting to use champix etc i have deicded to go down the herbal route , i had hoped i could still visit the nurse to get the CO levels checked as i think watching them come down would be a great help!
However she refused and said she would only see people taking prescription drugs!
When I got champix prescription from the docs, I begged for info re supprt groups etc.
The nurse offered to "council" me in the afternoons, but given that I work full time over 30 miles away, that was next to useless. Also, I wasn't looking for a one-to-one with someone who had never smoked in her life therefore hadn't a bloody clue what I was talking about, I wanted INFORMATION on what help was available to me locally.
Why could none of them point out this, and many other excellent websites to me????? You guys have been MY support group, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, but I stumbled across you by accident - where was all the NHS support, Eh? Eh?
Phew! Can't beat a good rant just before lunch, I feel so much better now
When I saw the nurse at the start of this quit, can't remember what it was for exactly as I went CT but it was something to do with stopping smoking, the nurse was really good. Despite not using any prescription drugs she told me to just book an appointment with her should I ever need a chat.
I wonder why it is different your end? Do you think it is your surgery's policy?
I think that is just awful though to not be able to see the nurse just because you are basically going it CT. Did you inquire about a group also? I used to go to such a group but they have run their course now, lasted 7 weeks. Maybe they might let you join one of these at least? Mind, not that you'll be helpful in their 'statistics'! Might help you though.
I think she had the hump cause i did not want to go down the emed route! she doesnt get it! has no clue about smoking what so ever!
I really dont have the time to go to support groups are all in the eve when kids about or in morning and got babs about so this is my support ...........a helleva lot better than any other!!!

Makes me mad!
But sod her! & Sod her meds!
im amazed they wouldnt help you with co levels, thats disgusting!!
getting co levels done should be standard, however we quit!
Only went the once, found HIM to be an utter waste of time, have purchased my champex privately, just going into my 16th hour, it is at this moment much easier than I expected, long may this mood continue.
Well done Bikers Moll, keep at it. Always come on here if you find it difficult at any time. You will get all the help you need here and from Johntkd's web sites.
With regard to the other matter of nurses mine was very helpful although I did detect disappointment when I stopped the NRT - I wonder why!!
