well done to everyone who has made the big decision and stuck to it!

It is my 11th day.. and i have to say i feel great. I have been reading various posts on how some of you have been finding it difficult, are you guys using anything to help you ? I am on patches and use an inhalator as a kind of comfort blanket.

I can't believe i have made it this far, this is the longest i have ever gone without a ciggie..

good luck to all, although im sure you won't need it..

Welcome Princess and well done to you too! :)

This is the last time I will ever stop smoking:D

I used Champix and did lots of reading; I feel I am now educated enough to never have another puff! :D

Hi guys,

thanks for the words of encouragement. Today has turned out to be a bit of difficult one so far.. really got bad cravings, but im guessing that is because i put my patch on too late.

Oh well .. still not giving in :)

PS at the end of your posts some of you have calculations on how well you have done etc.. how do i add this to my posts?

Hi M.

You need to go to 'quick links' at teh to of this page and click on 'edit signature'.

Hope today gets better for you. Just keep busy. Keep your mind busy. Busy busy busy! Also, when you are going through a crave, try to understand why you are having it instead of fighting it. It might help.

Do what I was doing last night...imagine lil men at work inside your head filling up those nicotine pathways with cement haha Close 'em off!

Well done for keeping strong - it does get better, believe me.

I think you mean statistics in which case just google "Quit Meter" and follow the links. You can have it running on your desktop all the time. :D

My name is Gary I have stopped nicotine for 3 months, 24 days, 6 hours, 8 minutes and 7 seconds (115 days).

I've not smoked 3458 death sticks, and saved £955.38.

I've saved 12 days and 8 minutes of my life.

thank you

Thanks John, you are probably right! I just need to get out of the habit and then i will be fine.

princess when a crave hits you then read read read.

the more you learn about your quit, cravings etc the easier it becomes to deal with them.

There is no point trying to hide from a craving cos it just makes it worse.

accept that you have the craving and try to understand exactly how you are feeling and why. (yes i know you feel like "I want a fag" but there is more too it than that.

If you are Cold Turkey then the craving is just your nicotine level dropping and your body saying it needs topped up. (more explanation of this in Allen carrs easyway.)

If you are on NRT then probably you have just hit a situation where you would normally have a fag. Instead of saying you "cant" have one, which makes it feel as though you are depriving yourself, say that you dont do that anymore or just that you "Wont " have one at the moment.

Anyway, i have rambled on enough, good luck and stay strong.

I have quit for 1 Week, 4 Days, 14 hours, 51 minutes and 29 seconds (11 days). I have saved £36.24 by not smoking 139 cigarettes. I have saved 11 hours and 35 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 13/04/2008 21:40
