:eek:Oh my God! I woke up this morning really craving a cigarette with my coffee and went hunting for the other half's fags, which I fortunetly didn't find! Then I thought about buying a pack of 10 on the way to work and smoking one then. Hopefully this craving will have passed by lunchtime. Does anyone else still get these feelings after 6 weeks or so??
Searching for cigarettes: :eek:Oh my God! I... - No Smoking Day
Searching for cigarettes
Nortie!! No smoking Tam! Why on earth would you want to suffocate your poor lungs?
Try not to fight it so bad. All you're doing by fighting the crave is creating this huge battle in your head which will quite possibly defeat you if you let it go on and on inside your head.
Try to understand why you are feeling like that and do some more research. Hell, go over old ground. Anything. Just try to change your way of thinking.
Good luck
i so know how uve been feeling today, ive soooo wanted one since 7am  i dunno why, my started off ok but went downhill and im now wanting to go to bed to get this day over with!
but a massive well done to us for not giving in!
Oh No! I caved in at about midnight last night!!!! Came back from a gig and found the OH's fags and had three puffs on one and then threw it away discusted. Glad I chucked it though. Thought about having the whole ciggie but commonsense got the better of me very quickly.

Oh you naughty girl - "smacks hand". Never mind, at least you now know how disgusting they taste. A lesson to be learnt here methinks.
Hi Jude - I am glad I'm not the only one who is still getting urges after nearly three months smoke free. Don't really want one and I don't go looking any more but just feel as if I'm missing something. Does that make sense?
Hi Jan
Know what you mean by missing something and its a bit scary to think this may carry on. I read others quit storys and they sound so sorted. But I feel ok and dont really want one so i will not smoke HEHE. Maybe the feeling will go away soon. Linda xxx

I do hope so. Mum packed in when she was 72 and she told me even though she never inhaled she some times wanted a cig but was not going to go out and buy any. She is 83 now and can't stand the smell at all. So her house is definitely a no-smoking area I am glad to say.

Probably not my place to proffer advice having been quit less than a month but...
I've read in many places, AC in particular, that the crucial thing with quitting is that you are
NOT GIVING ANYTHING UP but you are GAINING freedom from a lifetime of slavery to nicotine...and all sorts of other things...apparently
Theory is if you feel you are depriving yourself of something (nicotine) you are far more likely to give in to a crave...however long you've been quit. It's a mind-set...
This is working for me so far along with the question "Would a cigarette make it better?"
GOOD LUCK -us newbies need you to stay strong

Jude,
I'm on Champix too.. and AC.. and anything else I can lay my hands on (that doesn't contain nicotine) !!
Even with Champix, we've still gotta get into the right frame of mind...and stay there...
Have a great trip...

like it! does it include choc!
Early on in my quit, I found myself climbing on the kitchen stool and casually looking all over the tops of my cupboards whilst I waited for the kettle to boil! Didn't even want a fag, I told myself, so gawd only knows what I was doing????
More recently, I found a pack whilst cleaning out the car. I held onto them for days until I decided to massacre them all one night - such fun, ripping them all to shreds! (recommended*)
Have a great trip Jude, and stay focused!
Nicky, it doesn't matter how long you've been quit - any advice is welcome!
Someone stopped for only one day can often help someone further down the line!
