I dont drink a lot but i do have a drink every night.
Last night i bought some cans (i had a REALLY bad day at work) and ended up drunk which was bad as i have a lot to do today and cant really afford to be hungover.
I am going to assign myself one night a week when i can have a drink but that is all.
Not only am i drinking over the recommended weekly limit, but will; also be putting on weight, which is something i could have avoided.
I think i have been drinking more since i quit smoking and that isn't good either.
So my next drink will be Valentines day.
Bring on the brews. x x x x x

I think I need to cut down a bit as well. I very rarely drink in the week but for some reason now just thinking about alcohol is enough to tip me over the edge. I seem to get drunk just by walking past pubs - bearing in mind I've been a heavyish drinker for years that's just odd!
Reckon I'll have to cut it out altogether for a bit.
i hate fizzy drinks anyway. i will get in nice tea. and i could alwys have a hot chocolate after my bath and pjs
i too seem to get really drunk these days. i used to go to manchester gay village every other day and have about 15 double vodkas and would still be standing by the end of the night.
now, for whatever reason i keep getting really drunk. like last night i only had 5 cans of lager ans was lethered. yes, 5 cans. dancing round the living room and everything!!!!!!
i dont think ill be too bothered it juust might be hard after a stressful day at work - no cigs AND no alcohol.
Well we have the luxury of looking forward to a drink in the future, albeit Friday or Valentines or what etc etc unlike smoking where it is all or nothing!!
Save yourself some money there then!! from 15 voddys to less than a six pack!! lmao
Teas are lovely during the week and waking up with a clear head is a great feeling
I don't know what's changed as even before when I'd quit smoking for months I could still drink a lot, but in the last month or so I've become the biggets lightweight going.
Interesting topic - I miss smoking with a drink, its def the hardest time for me to have a beer without a fag.
However, went out twice this weekend and still no fags!!
I do though find the same, feel pissed a bit quicker than normal (more light headed than normal), the taste of beer also a bit 'stale' and not as refreshing as before. Bonus though - no hangover whatsover.
Just thought I would post and say that ever since i gave up smoking, my tolerance to drink has hugely changed. I get smashed in half of the amount I used to be able to take and it is quite scary. My friends have noticed a change in me when I am drunk also.
I have decided to stay off the booze until I am confident my non smoking is completely sorted. My hangovers are a complete nightmare too. I think there must be a link between smoking and tolerence to Alchohol.
I have tried looking up as to whether booze has more effect but I can only find that caffeine has a lot more kick to a non smoker!
Been quit for a month now thanks to champix (so thought it was time for another post!).
This drug has also stopped me drinking completely (from around 100 units a week to zero) - wasn't a conscious decision, just 'happened' - or maybe it was because smoking & drinking always went hand in hand for me, but for whatever reason, I've lost any desire to drink. So much for stopping smoking causing weight gain, I've lost over a stone already!!

OMG Steve i wish i could say that. Ive just started to lose a little after puting a stone on. I think it was all the nibbles. filled my mouth every time i had a crave. now dont get many craves, and take badly with it when i do. But remembering those first few days i know its nothing like that anymore. Your so lucky mate..... Stay strong xxx
