I am struggling a bit today, so as suggested in another post, I am going to write down my reasons for quitting.
1. Just before Christmas, my husband, who is 37, had 2 minor heart attacks. Possibily brought on by smoking. I am the same age as him. I just looked at my kids and thought how there life would be without mum or dad or both.
2. Coughs, everyone coughs when we smoke. I cough all day and all night. Its awful to hear the youngest coughing away because of smoking!
3. Out of breath! I cant run around with the youngest as I am always out of breath and tired .... all due to smoking.
Ive been stopped over 3 weeks now and the benefits are ...
No more coughing, well not as bad as it used to be. the little one only coughs a little bit and I dont feel guilty as he is not coughing due to smoke.
More money .... between me and hubby, we are saving about £100 a month. Thats going to be paid on my mortgage as an extra payment. Therefore my mortgage will be paid off a lot sooner. I would say to treat mself but I would only buy junk and clutter. This way its a long term investment.
I also feel less stressed. Much calmer and much more in control.
The house doesnt smell as much, although even after 3 weeks I can still smell stale smoke. I am keeping fit by cleaning the house all the time to get rid of the disgusting smell.
