Hey Mary

The doc seems to think I am diabetic. It runs in the family along with heart disease:eek: I hope not cause as you all know luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuv my chocolate and carbs too! Say a prayer 4 me! I hope your quit is going well!
Day~40
Great Job Flippy!
I have still been logging on to read posts from time to time to check on my forum friends. I am actually on around Day 14,15 since my last puff after I "blipped" for 3 days. I am not officially counting yet because I have not "officially" tried to quit again. Right now I am just trying to moderate myself to not go back to being a full blown smoker until I feel prepared mentally to attempt my next quit.
So I guess however you want to look at it I haven't smoked 40 of the last 43 days.. But like I said.. don't cheer for me because I haven't officially quit again yet!
You on the other hand have stayed much stronger then I have and I am very proud of you! You are doing something truly amazing by beating the odds and quitting! I think you should pat yourself on the back and realize how strong of a person you really are.
Jon
Hey Jon~
Anything is better than nothing! Great to hear from you! I was wondering how you were coping & have noticed a few times that you were logged on. I didn't have the guts to call u out in case u weren't doing well. Hope to see your official post soon! Take care

Thanks Mary,
I am glad to see you are doing great as well!
Let me just offer this perspective to you guys. I "blipped" and smoked 2 packs of cigarettes over 3 days. Let me just say this, I did NOT like the way nicotine made me feel. It gave me morning headaches again, as well as while I had nicotine in my system I had "Hot Flashes" I would literally radiate heat from my body in pulses. Of course after I didn't smoke again for 72 hours these crappy symptoms went away and I felt better physically.
That being said, you would think "Well if you hate the nicotine, then why do you still "crave" cigarettes?" I have been contemplating the answer to that the last couple of weeks. I am trying to decide if it is because of the 21 years of Brain Washing like Alan Carr suggests, or if perhaps my problem is a "mental" one where I absolutely hate being told I can't have something.
For example,
I don't eat ice cream typically. I could literally go years without ice cream and not care in the slightest. However, if you tell me I am never allowed to have ice cream EVER AGAIN in my life. What do I immediately want? Yup! You guessed it, Ice Cream!
I think when I blipped It was a combination of both things, the brainwashing, as well as my mental screaming because I was telling it NO for the rest of its life. I have been doing some "deep thought" sessions to think about the logic in all of that to figure out how to overcome that aspect of it the next time I quit. So if anyone was wondering how I have went the last 14-15 days without smoking and yet state "I have not quit again yet" that is the short answer =P.
Good luck smokefree what ever works for you. Look forward to having you back with us Linda xxxx
Boudee~testing
ooooooo Mary, you must be worried, poor you
let us know what the out come is, when do you find out?
I am sorry to hear you might be diabetic
I am figuring mid week. I had other test done earlier that take longer to get back. She said she would call when all are back in unless if something needed immediate attention. I'm crossing my fingers!
Day~41
Hi Jon glad to see you are doing well again.
Hello Flippy. Congrats on 44 days. Way to go. I'm on 40 days now. Feels great doesn't it. No more smell, smoking otside in the cold etc As Mel Gibson said in 'Braveheart' FREEDOM!
We are only a few days apart and it does feel good not being a smoker.
Well Done to you too.
