Well Done Nezzey, you're here and that is the main thing Day 3!! :D

I am afraid the sore throat is all part and parcel, your body has now to get rid of all that crap you've been layering up inside! It's all better out than in! :p

Keep sucking on those rennies and today you need to spend the money you have saved so far on a few little treats for yourself x x x ~ Buffy

Hi nezzey

The side affects you are getting are really common, i sufferd really bad acid and only recently got a really bad throat and thats after 7 weeks, i took gaviston for the acid, works better then rennie, as for my throat doctor said it was a virus and recomended rinsing salt water in the mouth and start taking vitamin c tablets.

For all the bad things that are coming out now of my body i no it will be worth the pain and inconvienance, because in the end we are all winners and NON SMOKERS :)

Keep going and keep strong,

all the best.

Day 3 NIGHTMARE

Slept better last night so thought today would be OK. Stupid me! Saw woman smoking on tv and couldn't stop starring so kept myself busy and then within an hour I thought 'got to have a cig' 2 minutes later I was dressed, standing by the door with £10 in my hand thinking 'perhaps I won't get 10, its a good idea to get 20 cos I'm bound to smoke 2moro (it's sunday after all), I'll be a non smoker again on monday'. By the time I'd thought about whether to get 10 or 20 I'd calmed a bit and 'talked myself out' of getting any. Thank goodness.

However, until 20 minutes ago I was having a relaxing bath and it hit me hard again. I was out the bath in a flash but didn't actually manage to get dressed this time before i talked myself out of it, again. This is so weird. Why is this happening now and not when I thought it would on day 1? I hope I hold out today but already I'm convinced it is going to be like this 2moro..... I don't know if I can.

Anyone else on day 3 or after experiencing this? If so how may days does it last for?

Hi Chantelle,

Funny enough I am on Day 7 (Starting on week 2 tomorrow) and its got to have been the worst day of the lot.

However what I will say, although I have been standing at the car on numerous occasions ready to stock up on smokes I have found it very easy to talk my self out of it.

I am now finding its coming down to a matter of me saying "nope I ain't going to smoke" rather than the body cravings taking over.

Hang in there it will get easier... Oh and where possible stay away from my 5 year old son (He'll have you smoking in less than 5 minutes flat, as I found out today while in a car casually driving up the road  )...

And the most important thing is not to worry about tomorrow yet, it could well be the easiest day of no smoking ever. And always remember that even though we both nearly broke down and gave in today when it came to the crunch we didn't. And if we can hold off once we can do it again.

Quitting Is A Great Thing

I WISH ALL THOSE GOING THROUGH THE EARLY STAGES OF QUITTING MY FULL SUPPORT.

TRY AT ALL TIMES TO VIEW IT AS A POSITIVE MOVE FOR THE BENEFIT OF YOUR HEALTH AND OF COURSE INDIRECTLY FOR YOUR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS. THE FEELINGS AT THIS STAGE ARE THE WORST BUT THEY DO GET BETTER AND ONLY LAST FOR SHORT SPELLS AT A TIME UNTIL THEY BECOME ENTIRELY MANAGEABLE.

IF YOU FEEL THE NEED FOR FURTHER SUPPORT PLEASE READ MY ARTICLES ON MY WEBSITE: WWW.IHELPYOUQUIT.COM.

ALTERNATIVELY GET A COPY OF ALLEN CARRS BOOK FROM AMAZON- EASYWAY TO QUIT............IT REVOLUTIONISED MY THINKING.MY WEBSITE HAS A SIMILAR SYSTEM THAT YOU MAY WISH TO LOOK AT.ALSO I HAVE UPLOADED MY FULL QUIT SMOKING STORY. IT INCLUDES DETAILS ON THE WAY THAT I QUIT AFTER 26 YEARS OF SMOKING. IT COSTS NOTHING AND I THINK IT MAY HELP YOU TO RATIONALISE WHY YOU SMOKE WHICH WILL IN ITSELF GO A LONG WAY TO ENABLING YOU TO CONTINUE BREAKING THE HABIT UNTIL YOU HAVE IT WITHIN YOU TO TAKE TOTAL CONTROL AND NEVER EVEN CONSIDER SMOKING EVER AGAIN.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL,

MALBRAMAN

Great day 4

Cheers Gav. You made me feel so guilty as I do not have a five year old to stress me further while trying to pack me!

I totally agree with you that it's all about talking yourself out of it.

After my awful day yesterday I have made a decision. When I get to that stage again, I have to read the list of reasons I want to pack in ten times then wait an hour. Have been up since VERY early today and haven't had any serious cravings hopefully yesterday was a one off but if it happens again, I KNOW I WILL HANDLE IT AND NOT SMOKE!

Week 2!!!!!!!!!! Well done. Such an achievement. I can't wait to be where you are now tho it seems a long way off but sure it will come around quickly enough.

Thanks for support. It's great to know someone is going thro the same!

I hope in the months to come, I'll be coming online and helping all the newbies!

Hi The first few days are tricky and you need to watch for the odd day which is a nightmare - I had one about every six days, when it was all I could think about, but remain strong and keep all your reasons in mind - it really does pass and get so much easier with time - I really never thought I could do this but on day 61 now and feeling goood!!
