Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has had their covid 19 vaccine yet? I got a call today to go for mine on Monday, and was curious if anyone had problems after it?
Coronavirus Vaccine: Hi, I was just... - Kidney Transplant
Coronavirus Vaccine
No issue and no pain other than a bit of a bruise. I had Pfizer.
My arm was in pain when i moved it, as though I had been punched, for about three days. It was worse than the flu shot, but still worth it.
Had mine. Moderna. It was fine. Some pain for a day or two in the arm, not unlike some other vaccines.
I have gotten both doses of mine. I'm a year and a half out from transplant surgery and had very mild symptoms aside from injection site pain.
Only had a sore arm which lasted a day. Scheduled for the 2nd one next week. Had Moderna.
Only the first shot so far (Pfizer). The shot it self was virtually imperceptible, but the next day I felt very draggy and achy all over, and my arm hurt like h*ll. (I'd had the virus a few weeks before, so that may have affected my reaction.)
No. I have been trying to obtain one. My sister lives in CA and everything is handled through nephrology. She had both vaccinations. In NC it is a cluster. No one knows when I will receive one and refer me to my PCP. They have no clue.
All vaccines are handled by our state (KY). They are prioritized first by age and then after age 60 and those with a condition which is a long list. No supplies were sent to medical/doctor offices whatsoever. They are working on the +70 group now and with any luck will be done sometime in March. I am a 49-year Type 1 diabetic and kidney transplant recipient (6 years) and 62 and probably won’t be able to get it until April with some luck. I am told we have a very low supply and our Governor allocated 15,000 for our local school employees. It is a KY cluster as well, we have no other options than to be patient. Meanwhile only going out for Doctor appointments and being super careful. Good luck to you!
I know. I am having some serious cabin fever. Even nephrology has phone appointments. Haven't been to the grocery store since January of last year. You get it.
Thank you NC Governor Cooper!
Received the Pfizer vaccine on 12/30 and the second on 1/21. First dose arm hurt worse than a standard flu shot and the following day had waves of nausea. Second shot arm wasn’t nearly as bad, but next day was lethargic. I’m also part of a Johns Hopkins study to see the effectiveness of the vaccine for SOT patients. Provided a sample before my first shot and a week before the second shot. Samples for COVID antibodies came back negative for both samples. I will be submitting a sample 1 month and 2 months out, then 6 and 12 month samples will be provided. While 13 days after the first shot showed no antibodies, it doesn’t mean they aren’t present yet. It sounds like SOT patients eventually produce antibodies, as the U.K. from talking with others started earlier with the vaccine in SOT patients.
Yes, I got my first shot on Jan. 13th and will get my second on Feb. 10th. I got Moderna. I didn't even have a sore arm. I am 21+ years post transplant.
No🙁. Still waiting for the call.
Yes I had mine a week ago today I was fine no side effects just sore arm same has you get with a flu injection. I had the AstraZeneca one .
Our kidney center still waiting for thier shipment to arrive, supposed to come a week ago, but for some reason did not come.
Here is the latest study findings after a 3rd dose from the Johns Hopkins study. I am patient #17 in this study.
