Kidney Biopsy?

my son is two years post transplant from a living donor. He is scheduled for a kidney biopsy next week they’ve detected some antibodies from a urine test does anybody have experience with this and are they able to get the rejection down or does it depend has anybody had experience with that?

he has told us over the summer that there have been several times when he completely missed a dose of his medicine I’m sure that has something to do with this we’re hoping to get him back on the right track I was just hoping to get some encouraging words that the doctors can get the rejection back down ?

Thee are different types and classes of rejections and require different treatments. That is why biopsy is important to determine if treatment is needed and which. It could simply be nothing also, so please try not to worry and help him stay on track of taking the medications for now. How old is he?

Hello, my spouse had his first low grade rejection 2.5 months after his transplant and the biopsy showed what was happening and it was stopped with high doses of IV steroids in the hospital for 5 days. That was FEb 2019 and since then he has not had a need for the biopsy. I truly hope Qdog gets answers to what is going on and please never miss a dose of your medications. I wish you all the best.
