Hi, I had a live transplant in October, recovered really well.
I was advised to have my 4th jab before I can go back to work, oh my days it absolutely floored me flu like symptoms, banging headache, shivers, couldn’t get off the sofa, anyway after 3 weeks I picked up, was truly on the mend, just left with a headache, then 3 days ago I’m floored again with the same symptoms as before, just wandering if anyone else has had the same.

Hi Welsh25,My son (he has had a transplant last year) took the four shots of Pfizer and did not have the symptoms. But I know of others who had a strong reaction like you. The symptoms three weeks later appear to be out of the usual though. Have you checked with the transplant team regarding this? Also have you checked for your antibody levels and in future you may also check if you can get evushield instead of the shots.

I’m a year and a half since transplant. I took first vaccine with no problem. Took second one and was sick throwing up and couldn’t keep meds down. After 2 shots I has my antibodies checked and had none. I have not taken anymore vaccines. The second one did me in. I’m thankful I’m doing well. I’m sorry to hear the vaccines affected you like that. My cousin took 2 vaccines 2 years ago and is still having trouble with loss of taste and smell and is weak. Best of luck to you.
You cousin has loss of taste and smell from getting COVID, you meant? Vaccine does not cause those symptoms.
Actually you don’t know that. The shots have caused many side effects.
Actually there aren’t widespread side effects. Billions of vaccines given, very few side effects reported- not “none” but not widespread either, which is true for most vaccines. I agree with other posters that the symptoms you report could be any number of things and we (transplant patients) are all very susceptible!
Are you a dr? Have you been on the vaccine adverse reaction database on the CDC website?
Credible information is widely available to everyone. I don’t plan on responding any further to vaccine skeptics.
Yes u r right. Lots of credible info that states that the shots are not effective. Oh and it takes months and mist times years before side effects show up. Look at acid reflux PPI meds… took 20 years to realize these meds cause kidney and liver damage. You do realize you were part of the trial. Not my cup of tea.
None of the authorized COVID-19 vaccines in the United States contain the live virus that causes COVID-19, the vaccine cannot make you sick with COVID-19.
Uummm… I never said the shot made u get covid . However many fully vaccinated ppl are getting covid….. hmmmm…..
My point is that these shots are not effective. Everyone is getting covid. I know fully vaccinated ppl that got very sick. I may have had covid in Jan ( i would never get tested) and it was a minor cold and I’m compromised.

Anyway, It's my understanding Covid rates are climbing right now, so both my hubby and I are grateful he's protected to the extent possible. And we're thankful that science continues to identify and protect us to the extent possible.
Yes because there are different emerging variants and not all our covered by the vaccines. But being fully vaccinated and boosted has certainly kept many safe from serious illness and hospitalization.
Just a question…. How do you know? Do u have proof that the shots have done this? I’m very curious as to how anyone knows that the shots have lessened sickness. Vaccines in the past have never lessened sickness. So this is a new phenomenon that I’d be curious to know how you prove.
No of course I can’t prove it but have just recovered from Covid and had very mild symptoms. And yes I am vaccinated and boosted.
My hubby has had the Covid vaccines and Evushield. No reactions. You may want to have a chat with your transplant team. There are a lot of viruses out there right now in many areas even though it's likely summer where you reside. Catching any virus is really easy for the immunosuppressed.
I am 22+ years post transplant. I had 2 Moderna vaccines and 2 Pfizer boosters + Evusheld.When I got my Moderna (2nd) vaccine, I started to run a low grade temp. It was Feb 2020. Because of COVID, most docs were not willing to see me in person. Blood work showed I had inflammation. Had CT scan, even a heart, internal exam to see if I had endocarditis. All was normal. It was 6 months of running a fever (July 2020) and feeling like "crap", my PCP ordered a gallbladder ultrasound. That is what it was...a very "sick" gallbladder and was "backing up" into my liver. Anyway, you never know what is going on with your body. It seemed I had a reaction to the vaccine, and was not that at all.
As a transplant recipient, our doctors need to look for the unexpected. I know for the last 20 years I have had the unexpected. We are all different and react differently to medicines and vaccines.

Hi Welsh. Hope you are well. I had a kidney transplant 18 months ago. Had no issues. Had four vaccines. When tested I had zero antibodies. Caught covid early last March. Had an antibody infusion. No bad symptoms but took 19 days to test clear.Few colds followed but all fine now. Good luck
