Weight Problem

Does anyone have a problem with weight loss and not being able to gain weight. I suspect my husbands Mycophenolate for this as have read it causes stomach problems. He has just had an endoscopy and they found a stomach ulcer and other lesions and have taken biopsies. He is 3 1/2 yrs post transplant. He vomits if he eats a large meal and is so fed up.

I have the opposite, I cannot loose weight. I am gaining too much weight. I am now exercising 6 days a week to keep the weight off and its not working. I the past when I had ulcer I would always loose weight so its normal.

I had this problem when I first started cellcept. I had dropped down to 114 pounds from 135 pounds. My body was not able to tolerate the high dosage they were giving me as I was on six tablets of the 250 mg dosage twice a day. I was nauseated with severe abdominal pain with diarrhea. I had asked to be on a lower dosage as my WBC began to finally drop down. The doctor did do a Cellcept level, which they normally do not do. I asked for Protonix 40 mg to settle my stomache down and took some reglan for a couple of days. I was finally able to tolerate small feeds with this help and to stop the diarrhea and abdominal pain. I am glad you had the scope done. Good luck with this problem.
