I am a 55yo strong woman. I was born with a single kidney.I've been on the big D for 7 years. I have a life time history of kidney problems. I can probably relate to anything you have to talk/bitch about. LOL!!!

The most important thing is trying to keep a positive attitude.

It's not easy. Keeping up on your health & trying to have a life is difficult.

Thanks for the reply, how many times a week do you go for dialysis?I go 3 days a week for 3 hrs & 15 min.have been getting restless legs here lately.had that for years even before dialysis. Its really hard for me to sit still I get anxious to be up & moving.I am 74 hope to make it to 75 LOL.I do feel good most days & when I am home I stay busy if my back is not hurting ( degenerative discs).Be well & God bless you.

I also go 3X/week 3.5-4 hrs. Depending on how much fluid I put on. Restless legs runs in the family. It never bothered me til I went on D. (D = dialysis) It's rough sitting still that long.I take Requip for my legs & a little white pill for anxiety. They help most of the time. It can mess with my BP sometimes.

There really is no rhyme or reason for when meds don't work.

My biggest struggle is diet. I do good for awhile, as long as I stay home. But......... I can't stay home all the time. Especially if we go to some one house for a meal, I was raised to eat what is put in front of you & be greatful.

I can go on & on......... That's all for now 🙂 nice meeting you

I think I have replied before. But its nice to keep in contact while trying to make new friends. D today was a bit rough. But we only missed my dry weight by a kilo. I still feel like shit when we pull that much off me. I just come home & go to bed.

Just getting ready to go to D. Glad its Friday & we get the weekend to be normal. LOL. I got my monthly labs back & to my relief & joy my phosphorus is is way down. Last month(Christmas goodies) my phosphorus was 8.7 way over the par.

This month it's down to 5.9, just a bit over par, but s huge

improvement for me. The phosphorus & potassium are my worst struggles.

Doing labs today I hope my P&P is not way up there because of Christmas goodies.

HiI have polycystic kidney disease and my kidneys grew so large that both had to be removed in August of 2021. So far I am doing pretty well. My greatest fear was wondering how much fluid I could take in. D 3X per week for 4 hours. I just accept this as what it takes for me to live. My numbers have been fine so far. Do you have anything specific you would like to discuss?
