Dialysis HEADACHE!

I get a headache almost every time I go to dialysis lately. My blood pressure goes up during dialysis and that may be the trigger, but curious if anyone else has had this issue and how they deal with it or avoid it. I tried magnesium supplements and that does seem to help.

When initially started dialysis I had a problem with my BP and I was sweating and had a slight headache. Since I am not a doctor I am not going to try and diagnose your issue however let me throw a few things out there for you.

1. Are you nervous or anxious?

2. What are you eating prior to going to the center?

3. Are you under any stress or do you find that being on dialysis is stressful for you?

4. Have you conveyed this to your doctor?

5. Are you having any complications with the equipment?

6. You could be having a reaction to the surroundings

I would look into all the above and see. I would also do a process of elimination between, diet, your overall feeling about dialysis especially if you are new to dialysis.

Let me know how things turn out. Give yourself about a week or two to change some things or try some things out.
