Miserable with Neuropathy

Does anyone suffer from numbness and tingling in their hands? I was put on neurontin 2 weeks ago and it is not helping relieve it. What do you take or do to ease your neuropathy?

Have you had your fistula looked at by ultrasound? Talk to your nephrologist to learn more about steal syndrome and to get a referral if needed. A friend of mine at dialysis had this problem, but her arm, hand and fingers were in terrible pain during dialysis. Please don't hesitate to call your doctor.

Thanks for your reply. I actually don’t have any problem with the fistula arm. This neuropathy is in both hands from Amyloidosis. Usually my other hand is worse.

Hi mtoops, I ended up taking a med for nerve pain after my kidney transplant since I had a bad reaction to narcotic pain meds (nausea and vomiting and just not feeling like myself). My brother also took it for shingles pain. I think it was called gabapentin, but please check with your doctor about nerve pain meds and how long they take to work. Good luck to you!
