Electric feeling : I am on hemodialysis and... - Kidney Dialysis
Electric feeling

Are you paying attention to your dry weight - not gaining too much between treatments? Also, how much do you urinate? If it's just about a cup a day, you still could be gaining fluid in your tissues and waste products in your blood that dialysis needs to remove. I know that electric feeling - I get it in one leg from being laid back in the chair for 3 hours. I just carefully get up and walk it off going to the scale. The headaches and nausea can be from a lot of things like low blood pressure. My blood pressure can run low during treatment and they give me midodrine for it to raise it up. I also had to stop taking my last high blood pressure med, carvedilol, altogether. Some people can just not take blood pressure medication on dialysis days. The nausea can be controlled with zofran in your dialysis line. Also, they use oxygen to help you breathe easier and to put more oxygen in your bloodstream. Talk to your staff about more possible solutions to help you feel better during treatments. Good luck to you!
