Itching

I started dialysis June 28, 2017. I know attend a DaVita center for dialysis and I am experiencing itching. Can someone tell me if this is a dialysis symptom?

You might be allergic to the solution in the dialyzer. This happened to me once and they changed it and itching went away.

Julezz1108: thank you for your reply. I will sure asked the nephrologist and/or nurse if changing the dialyzer solution is possible. Thanks for the advise!

If its not phosphorus related it could be that your skin is dry. Dialysis patients get dry skin. Try a moisturizing your skin see if that helps.

I have had problems with itching for the last 5 years. I just dropped into ESRD and the itching was driving me crazy at night. I too usually have a normal phosphorus although my nephrologist suggesting the itching is due to phosphorus. I tried many kinds of soap and nothing seemed to help until I started using Hemp cream. I don't think it has any CBD, as I order it from Amazon, but just rubbing the itchy area has significantly decreased my itchy skin at night.
