Overactive Bladder

I was having the same issue, had to pee all the time. I would get the reply. be glad you're peeing. Well, let me call at night when I have to get up every two hours. It hurts and they do not get it. So I am on dialysis and cannot take many meds, nor do I want them...But when I was in the hospital for bariatric surgery, they gave me gabapentin. It worked so well, I was so excited. But then, they were giving me 300mg which is too much for stage 5. I now take 100mg at night and it helps enough to let me sleep a bit longer between pees. It calms the nerves that make you feel like you have to go. See if they will let you try it.
I haven't tried any medications but I have tried women's health physiotherapy. If you keep up with the exercises it works quite well.
I have also been there, talk to your urologist about Botox injections, it has really helped , use to pee anywhere from 4-5 times in the night, now only 2 -3rd right when I wake up in the morning!
Just curious what is your BUN level from your labs? I have experienced higher Bun with more frequency going to bathroom at night.
I am 1.5 years past transplant. GFR fluctuates; highest was 61 but mostly as an average is the mid 50 range. Creatinine is 1.12. BUN is 17.0 and all other tests are within the good range. My transplant team finally referred me to a urogynecologist and I was diagnosed with OAB First drug that was offered was GEMTESA but Insurance would approve until I had tried mirabegron 25mg. I've been on it for ~1 month and now only get up in the night to pee once (or not at all). The doc says it usually takes 3 months to start working, but its possible that I am sensitive to the drug and the ramp up time was short. I also am going for pelvic floor exercise. (In my opinion, the exercises are nothing different than normal reahab for core, glutes, piriformis, etc. For me, the Mirabegron is working !!!! (I drink 64 oz of water daily, and try to get it in before 5 pm. Am not always successful tho with the cut off time.
This is good to hear. Our kidney situation is not the same, but its still good to know that the Mirabegron may be working for you. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I may try it to see if I get some good results.
