Doctors ignored this since then I’ve had over ten kidney infections. Had a n ultrasound today and they found scarring. Does this mean kidney disease my last blood test was last year gfr 90 waiting for a blood test now any help appreciated oh and I’m 36 years old

I am not a doctor. This is my amateur opinion from someone who has done a lot of reading and spent many many hours speaking with nephrologists.

GFR 90 is not chronic kidney disease. However, you said last year. It’s now 10 months later. Wait and see what it says. Then you’ll know if you’ve begun to have chronic kidney disease. If you have scarring but a high GFR, I’m unclear if that qualifies. If they can see scarring on an ultrasound that is cause for concern.

When you say “doctor” ignored it, I sure hope you’re talking about a “urologist.” If not, you need to see on asap. You don’t want to lose function of your bladder and need a catheter.

I wish you all the best.

Utis can indeed lead to kidney infections which can produce scaring inside the kidney known as kidney fibrosis. When one can't void well, then utis occur more frequently and you're at greater risk for kidney infections. My husband has this problem due to diabetes affecting the nerves and muscles in his bladder so he retains urine. His urologist and his nephrologist carefully monitor the situation - he sees both of them regularly. I'm so sorry to hear that your doctors didn't address your issues. The good news is that your eGFR is still in the normal range although, in my opinion, it would be nice if it was a bit higher for someone in your age range. As long as you stay on top of your situation, you should do well. Here is a link to kidney disease and the various categories. kidney.org/kidney-topics/es...

hi thanks for your comments. Urologist seen me years ago and just said it’s probably because I’ve had a child I get utis and never did tests. I have been referred again and so far the urologist just contacted the doctors to tell

Me to try herbal remedies from Holland and barrat instead of being on daily low dose antibiotics.

Have my blood test done it two weeks to I guess I need to wait the results of that to see how bad that damage is.
