It sounds like you need a change of medication, ask your doctor.

In 2006 I was diagnosed with CKD, my GFR was 58. My consultant described peridopril to ‘protect’ my kidneys. Unfortunately it wiped my GFR to 19 within a few months. The medication was changed to Amlodipine and atenolol, my GFR recovered to between 20 and 30, it varies but is stable. I now have proteinuria and have been prescribed a small dose of losartan which my doctor described as a cousin of the ‘pril’ medications and can be better tolerated. I am regularly tested, weekly at first to check my tolerance. My last GFR was 25 so still stable.

Hope you get checked out soon.

Yesterday my i went second opinion, the other nephrologist reduced the medicine from 20mg to 5mg, and said this drop in gfr was because of high dose of enalapril 20mg, he also said gfr will improve after reducing the dose from 20mg to 5 mg

Glad you got it checked out, hopefully they’ll monitor it.
