Has anyone with kidney transplant and Covid shots caught Covid? If so how did you do? This is my fear as I don’t know how my body will react. I am very scared to go out for fear of losing my donated kidney.

Hi Beech, I've not had a transplant nor have I had covid but I do understand about not wanting to go out and take the risk. Have you had the vaccine? Do you wear a mask? Just be careful where you go and maintain distances

I ran across this on NKF web site. I don't know if they can answer your questions but it might help you feel more at ease. I do understand your fear, I've not had a transplant but am still fearful of what might be outside. I'm fortunate to live in a state where vaccines are pushed and we have a mask mandate.

Thank you I will check the website now. I live In Florida and unfortunately masks are not fully mandated here. Thank you for the website

I took an antibody test a few months ago and it showed 2.8/3.0. Even though they urge you not to consider the strength of the antibodies, it was reassuring to see that high antibody number eight months after my vaccine injections. Then, I got the booster a month ago and now feel fairly well covered. I do wear masks whenever I go out and also if tradesmen come to the house.However. I share your concern given your transplant history. What are your doctors advising? Hope you can resolve some of your worry without giving up your safety. Some days, I think it's a crazy world out there.

Great to know your antibodies were high that gives me some comfort thanks Doctors advise the CDC guidelines. I just wish this was over with already for us all. Thanks

Beachvibe, I am in Florida too. Tripled vaxxed. Although I don't have a kidney transplant, I do have kidney issues, and I can totally sympathize with how you feel.

Thanks PecanSandie let’s pray that we get through this Covid free🙏🏼 As you know Florida is a bit difficult on our protection.
