clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/home is a site I visit quite regularly to find studies being done. I just fill in my kidney condition, and the country, and I'm off to explore the different things scientists and clinicians are trying and studying.

Don't get tricked! There is a big difference between a clinical trial for a CKD treatment and a clinical trial looking for CKD folks to test non CKD medication. I am plagued by Facebook ads for the latter. There is a large drug testing company in my town that is always look for CKD patients. But they are not testing CKD drugs. They are testing other drugs and want CKD patients to see if their asthma, heart, cancer or whatever kind of drug they are testing makes CKD worse. I don't need the $, or have the time, to be a guinea pig for drugs that may make my CKD worse.

I've been involved in a couple of drug trials. They are very careful to spell out what they are testing and how it will affect you but for sure check them out. The big thing, as far as I am concerned, is the amount of money they will pay you. If it's over 600 a year it is taxable. If under 600 it is not. That can/may make a big difference at tax time. IMHO someone has to be the Guinee pig.

Not what you're looking for?
