kidney disease question
You can have cancer of the kidney. Chronic kidney disease is a big label for all types or forms of prolonged kidney disease. It does not specify anything more than it is a comorbidity or condition that is constant... Kidney Cancer would still be CKD. Acute kidney disease would be something that happened quickly and goes away, or you go into failure. Here is a link to explain webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/und...
There's long been a 2-way association between CKD and kidney cancer (1st link below) and, more recently, a more specific association to renal cell carcinoma caused by CKD (2nd link).
This is yet another reason why medical authorities should advise people early if they have CKD yet we know that they don't - as many on here testify. My mum was not told, dad discovered it when perusing her Patient Access record yrs later. She developed RCC!
It is not. Though there is a kidney type of cancer. This is different from CKD, Chronic Kidney Disease.
