That's something you need to decide yourself along with your doctor. I will tell you my story. I had/have very high protein in my urine. It's up to 8000 last time it was checked. Back a couple of years ago it jumped from mid 100s to over 2000. I have diabetes, well controlled, A1C ran about 6 and also on bp meds, although it wasn't that high. Doctor wanted to do the biopsy to see if there was an underlying cause. He had assumed ckd was diabetic related and now he thought maybe there might be something else. So, I did the biopsy, there wasn't anything else, still only diabetic related. Of course, conditions continue and get worse and I'm 2 years older now, but it seems I've gone downhill since the biopsy.

Yes, that's generally the outcome. Diabetes, nothing else, simply continues to take out more filtration capacity so protein spillage increases. Like you, my hubby's situation mirrors yours. But, who knows, maybe some have an additional condition, like FSGS to make the process go even faster, so a biopsy is done to rule other conditions in or out. I truly hope the protein levels stabilize for both you and Vivekks.

You're right. I had the biopsy and don't regret it. It could have made a difference if it was something else.

You will have to out weigh the benefits. My husband had a biopsy December 29th. He bled for 3 weeks and his results were inclusive. Now they are running dna test and we are waiting for the results. We both wish that his doctor would have offered the dna test before the biopsy. Bleeding for 3 weeks was very very stressful. We were both worried that it was a huge mistake and would have caused more damage. Thankfully, his gfr did not go down and the bleeding stopped, but not before he was sent in for an ultrasound and multiple urinalysis over and over.

It is strange. Is doctor does not to probition time of blood for which observe clotting time for blood.3 weeks bleeding is too high.

Have he done anti PLA2R test before biopsy.

I think doctor have damage more tissue in Kidney during sampling.

He did have a CBC platelet test and was off his asprin. His gfr did not suffer. Doctor said it's rare but can happen. They don't usually warn you over that because of how rare it is.

Oh and his renal ultrasound came back normal.

Ok. That's good. I have done Antibody test PLA2R as doctor suggested and it comes normal. I have CRP test and it comes high C Reactive Protein 9.8 ppm normal range is 0.3 ppm. May this will cause of protein leakage from urine because I have all kidney function test normal.
