Protein in urine
Hi,
There is a good article on this from the American Kidney Fund that I've provided you the link to below. Best of luck.
What is your urine pH?
This is not for me: I replied to cook64. I know what my pH is on a daily basis.
Hi Cook 64,
Welcome! Mr._ Kidney has given you a great link to read about protein in your urine and possible causes.
My thoughts are to make an appointment with the doctor who ordered your labs; have a candid discussion and ask for an explanation about what each test means, what could be causing the protein spilling into your urine and what he/ she is planning to do going forward; including repeating tests ordering further testing.
Additionally, ask have questions about your ph urine level and other functions as creatinine, BUN, GFR as well as albumin, albumin/ creatinine ratio, what your CBC looks like and your electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, calcium CO2 look like; you are paying for their services and deserve basic explanations. They should be your first line of information.
I would print out a copy of your labs and check off any areas where your results flag high or low next to the designated range generated by the lab who spun and evaluated the labs. Take notes or ask a family member to go with you to the appointment to scribe for you as to allow better focus ability during the appointment.
Many reasons could be causing protein in the urine; each person is different.
Knowledge is power; why wonder?
Again, remember that every person is different.
