Hi, my name is Thai and I have a 29yr old son who has chronic kidney disease. For the last 2 weeks he has been experiencing a lot of pain in his left arm, the same arm they use during dialysis. Not just only that but his left arm is also expanding too as well. I have asked the docter about his left arm and they told me that it was nothing. Went to the hospital and had them run a few test on his arm and they could not find anything. So I am here seeking for answer and recommendations. So please if anyone knows or has any idea on why his arm is like, please contact right away

I do not know the answer for this but I am sending good wishes and prayers for your son. I am sure someone in this very knowledgable group will have a good response for you. In the meanwhile I will keep you in my prayers🙏
Maybe it’s just sore if there is no blockage in his access. If it is a fistula they do become larger. Raise the arm over head to let the blood run down. It should become flatter temporarily. If not there may be some blockage. If it’s sore alternating warm( not hot!) compresses with cold compresses can give some relief. I hope he feels better soon.
Hello Thai. I’m sorry to hear your son is going through such distress with his arm. I found this website that may explain some things about it (read point number 7). I would ask his family doctor or nephrologist to investigate this further.
I hope you’ll find this helpful. I wish you and your son all my best. Please keep us posted on how he comes along. God bless. 🙏
Not sure if your son has a fistula or an AV Graft, but I had a Graft and my arm swelled all around the graft. Mine stopped working due to the swelling and I had it removed.Does it hurt?
Was it arm swollen or vein swollen?
