I have restless legs syndrome that I experience may be twice a week during bed time. Day time is ok. Is it due to lack of some blood composition / diet? I would highly appreciate if someone can throw some light on this. Is it a symptom of CKD?

Restless leg syndrome
It is a symptom of iron deficiency anemia caused by chronic kidney disease and/or poor absorption of iron by diet and/or internal bleeding. Get an iron panel with ferritin & Hgb & BUN/creatinine with gfr & let me know results.
Correctamundo.
I've had RLS for years. It's likely related to CKD and the only time it ever went away was when I was on the antidepressant Paxil. RLS really sucks and robs me of quality sleep. Shifting pillows between my legs helps a little, but it never goes away entirely.
Probably in that neighborhood. On a scale of 1-10, mines probably around 5-6.
Hi,
I have polycystic kidney disease and used to have RLS. It was solved by visiting the sleep disorders department of my hospital. They did a sleep study and I now have a mandibular advancement device which helps give me quality sleep. Very happy with it as I feel more lively in the daytime now too.
Hope this helps,
Mgt
Drink a mouth full of Tonic water with Quinine before bedtime. My wife suffers from RLS and this has been helping her.
I was prescribed gabapentine for restless leg that I have occasionally. That along with wearing compression socks helps.Good luck to you. I am stage 4 kidney disease.

I get RLS during the night as well. I always thought it was more related to other meds that I am on. My GP prescribed Requip (ropinirole). It goes away about 20 minutes after I take it and I am able to go back to sleep. My RLS seems to come on randomly. I take the same meds every day and never know when it's going to happen.
I thank all of you who replied their experience with RLS. I now have to get some blood work done. Will keep you all informed. Thanks once again 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
Just want to add a quick note. In our case, RLS was related to my hubby's kidney issues and dialysis. RLS appeared at predictable times, late afternoon and early evenings, for him. It has all gone away with his transplant. Amazing how quickly it disappeared.
